Loos·ing of the Bond
/ˈluː.sɪŋ əv ðə bɒnd/
A point of release or transition in astrology, describing either the Moon’s separation from the Sun after their union, or a shift in the sequence of zodiacal releasing when the progression moves across the zodiac to its opposite sign.
In Hellenistic astrology, the Loosing of the Bond represents a symbolic and temporal “untying” within the cosmic order. In lunar motion, it occurs when the Moon has moved far enough from the Sun to break their immediate connection—an image of separation and renewed independence. In the timing system of zodiacal releasing, it marks a major transition: once the releasing has traveled through all twelve signs but still has time remaining, the sequence “jumps” to the opposite sign to continue. This moment is interpreted as a significant turning point, when established patterns loosen and a new phase of life or destiny begins, often bringing a shift in direction, purpose, or focus.
