The movement and predictive courses examine a range of techniques, from ancient to modern, for interpreting planetary cycles, with particular emphasis on the temporal dimension of chart activation. The integration of interpretive content (“what”) with timing considerations (“when”) is fundamental to effective astrological practice. Students will critically evaluate the strengths and limitations of diverse forecasting methods across historical astrological traditions to determine which approaches most appropriately align with their interpretive frameworks and clients’ needs.
The Prediction Certificate is designed to provide a comprehensive education in foundational movement techniques. Students will learn to apply their knowledge of natal astrology fundamentals to forecasting. Instruction encompasses key techniques, including transits, secondary progressions, lunar progressions, solar returns, and rectification.
Why Study Prediction Fundamentals
Studying predictive astrology—often referred to as movement within the chart—is essential for understanding astrology as a dynamic, time-sensitive system rather than a purely static framework. While a natal chart describes inherent potentials, traits, and life themes, predictive techniques provide insight into how and when those potentials are likely to manifest.
Engagement with forecasting methods such as transits, progressions, and returns enables the astrologer to identify periods of heightened activity, challenge, or opportunity. This period-specific awareness allows for more precise and contextually grounded interpretations, linking symbolic meaning (“what”) with timing (“when”).
Moreover, the study of chart movement supports a deeper appreciation of planetary cycles and their correlation with lived experience. It enhances the practitioner’s ability to offer guidance that is both situationally relevant and anticipatory, whether for personal reflection or client work. In this sense, predictive astrology is fundamental to developing a comprehensive and practically applicable astrological practice.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this certificate, students will have:
- Compared the strengths and weaknesses of various predictive timing techniques and selected the ones preferred for regular use.
- Practiced layering several movement techniques to confirm the timing forecast of what is activated in the natal chart, to what extent, and for how long.
- Applied appropriate criteria for selecting the movement technique(s) for the interpretive scope and need
- Demonstrated interpretive skill in forecasting the timing of the situation or issue and its potential for a positive outcome.
Prerequisite Knowledge
Transits should be the first course to take in this certificate.
All courses range in astrological skill level from High Beginner to Advanced. The required skill level is identified for each course.

This certificate requires 40 credits to complete.

- RP220 Practicum – Applied Forecasting: The Art of Forecasting (need 35 completed credits - High Intermediate)
