Natal Fundamentals


 

The certificate provides a comprehensive foundation in the symbolic framework of Western natal astrology. It examines the historical development of astrological symbolism, as well as the methods by which such symbolism may be synthesized and applied in the delineation of a natal chart. Learning Outcomes

By the conclusion of this certificate program, students will have developed an understanding of the diverse philosophical frameworks and methodological approaches that have emerged within the Western astrological tradition, from the Hellenistic period to contemporary practice. They will demonstrate awareness of key debates within the field and will have engaged in sustained practice in chart interpretation. Students will have established a robust foundation in astrology and will be able to delineate a basic natal chart.

Prerequisite Knowledge

Familiarity with the planets, their corresponding glyphs, and the associated astrological signs and symbols constitutes a valuable foundation. Individuals who are new to the study of astrology are encouraged to enroll in the complimentary self-directed course, Introduction to Astrology, in order to develop a preliminary understanding of these concepts.

All courses range in astrological skill level from Low Beginner to Low Intermediate. The required skill level is identified for each course.

Certificate Requirements

This certificate requires 40 credits to complete.

All courses are 10 credits (10 weeks).

Required Courses:

  • RN101 Fundamentals I: Introduction to Astrology (Low Beginner)
  • RN102 Fundamentals II: Interpretation Essentials (High Beginner)
  • RN103 Fundamentals III: Beyond the Basics (Low Intermediate)
  • RN104 Fundamentals IV: Chart Synthesis: Natal Practicum (need 30 completed credits - Low Intermediate)
  • Fundamentals IV is a Practicum. Live attendance is required for this class to qualify for academic credit.

All courses are required for the Diploma.
