The Medieval Certificate explores the rich astrological traditions developed and refined between the 8th and 14th centuries, spanning the Persian, Arabic, and later Latin Medieval periods. The courses draw extensively from historical source texts of the era, including rare Persian translations that remain largely unavailable in the West.
Core topics include spherical astronomy, calendrical systems, star catalogues, lunar mansions, fixed stars, astrolabes, geomancy, Arabic parts, almutens, significators, and Medieval techniques in Mundane and Electional astrology. Predictive electives such as Firdaria, Primary Directions, Solar Revolutions, and Advanced Annual Profections are also included, with additional modules to be added over time. A 5-week practicum rounds out the program, guiding students in integrating the teachings into a cohesive and practical astrological approach.
The Medieval period marks a golden age in astrology, where innovations in mathematics and technology merged with cross-cultural scholarship to preserve and enhance the legacy of the great astrological minds. By enrolling in the Medieval Certificate, you will gain a profound appreciation for this lineage’s depth, history, and philosophy—and emerge as a more insightful and compelling astrologer, equipped to bring these classical systems into your contemporary practice.
